Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 108

MANUSCRIPT: AC. Pencil. Dated: Friday morning. Postmarked: Mar. 18. An attempt has been made at some time to erase the words "and Sue" in the first paragraph. ED's postscript is written on a separate sheet.

PUBLICATION: L (1894) 112-113, in part; L (1931) 107-109, in part; Home 265-267, entire.

Anna Warner was the younger sister of Mary Waner, one of ED's close friends (see letter no 118). Jerry, whose name appears several times in the letters of 1853-54, was probably the "faithful hand," Jeremiah Holden, mentioned in letter no 80. For further details about Mrs. Mack, see Appendix 2.
