Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 122

MANUSCRIPT: AC. Pencil. Dated: Saturday noon. Envelope franked and addressed by Edward Dickinson. Postmarked obliterated.

PUBLICATION: L (1894) 123-124, in part; L (1931) 121-122, in part; Home 283-284, entire.

With ED's letter was enclosed one from Lavinia (Home 282-283). Austin had been home for a short visit, from April 29 until May 2. It seems probable that Austin's worry rose out of his fear that the family would object to his plan to have his hair cut short (see letters no. 126 and 132).
