letters from dickinson to joseph k. chickering

Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 990

MANUSCRIPT: AC. Envelope addressed: Prof. Chickering. This is rare among letters of the later years in that both envelope and letter are written in ink.

PUBLICATION: L (1894) 415; LL 341; L (1931) 405.

The handwriting is so nearly identical with that of the letter preceding that one conjectures it was written at the same time. Perhaps it acknowledges some token of thanks sent by Chickering upon receiving the preceding letter.
