letters from dickinson to henry v. emmons

Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 121

MANUSCRIPT: HCL (E 2). Pencil.

PUBLICATION: NEQ XVI (1943) 367

There is no clue to the nature of the manuscript which ED lent Emmons. Since the friendship of the two was based on a shared interest in literature, one may surmise that she loaned him a gathering of her own poems. For a probable identification of the "friend," see letter no. 136.
