letters from dickinson to henry v. emmons

Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 151

MANUSCRIPT: HCL (E 5). Ink. Dated: Wednesday morn.

PUBLICATION: NEQ XVI (1943) 369-370.

The letter was sent to both Emmons and John Graves. The currently popular poet John Godfrey Saxe lectured at Easthampton on Tuesday, January 2. There is no record of an engagement in Amherst at the time, yet he seems to have been speaking somehwere within easy reach.
