letters from dickinson to emily fowler ford

23 November 1853?

Dear Emily -

I think of you a great deal, tho' I have not been to see you, and my heart runs in every day to see if it cannot comfort you.

I was coming Saturday Evening, but heard you had company. I do hope after Thanksgiving that I can come and see you a great many times and stay a long while, and I hope you will do so here. I have only a little space left to wish you a sweet Thanksgiving.

Aff
Emilie
