Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 282

MANUSCRIPT: BPL (Higg 58). Ink. Dated: Amherst.

PUBLICATION: L (1894) 311; LL 266; L (1931) 281.

Higginson dated the letter "1865?," but the handwriting is clearly earlier. The poem with which the letter concludes is the second stanza of "That after Horror - that 'twas us." For "the Thief's Request," see letter no. 195.
