Ed pasted this unidentified clipping onto the letter:

John Jenkins, hailing from Philadelphia, was arrested at Baltimore yesterday on the charge of passing counterfeit half and quarter-dollar pieces, and 200 pieces of counterfeit coin were found on his person. It is suspected that he is employed by a gang of counterfeiters.
