letters from dickinson to the montagues

Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 713

MANUSCRIPT: missing. Unpublished.

The text derives from a transcript (AC) made by Mrs. Todd in the 1890's, when she was preparing the Letter (1894). An envelope is dated: "July 1 or 2, 1881." Montague's function as ED's mailing assistant is explained in the note to letter no. 700.

There is a possible sequence in this and the two letters following. The note here enclosed for Dr. Holland may have been the question in the note to Sue that follows.
