letters between dickinson and thomas niles

To ED
From Thomas Niles

late April 1882

Miss Dickinson

I have recd yours & I want to say that the last London Athenaeum contradicts the rumor in its previous issue and asserts by authority that ["] Mr Cross has not abandoned the idea of writing a biography of George Eliot"

"H.H." once old [sic] me that she wished you could be induced to publish a volume of poems. I should not want to say how highly she praised them, but to such an extent that I wish also that you could.

Yrs truly

T. Niles
