Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 414

MANUSCRIPT: destroyed.

PUBLICATION: L (1894) 280; LL 290-291; L (1931) 255.

Edward Dickinson died on 16 (not 15) June. ED concludes her letter by recalling the James Montgomery hymn (which she had evidently played for her father):

Servant of God, well done!
Rest from thy loved employ.
The battle fought, the victory won,
Enter thy Master's joy.
