Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 691

MANUSCRIPT: destroyed.

PUBLICATION: L (1894) 289-290; LL 329-330; L (1931) 262-263.

The fire occurred on Monday, 4 April 1881. Mrs. Todd left a space between the paragraph concluding with "the seclusion of death," and the section following. The ending does not seem to be a part of this letter, since it addresses but one person.
