Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 1004

MANUSCRIPT: AC. Pencil.

PUBLICATION: L (1931) 422.

This letter is written in reply to one received from Mrs. Todd, who spent the summer of 1885 in Europe. The quotation in the fifth paragraph attempts to recall lines from Emerson's "The Humble-Bee" : "I will follow thee alone,/Thou animated torrid-zone."
