I'm eleven years over my reitrement age, and, fortunately I don't have to work outside my home. Believe it or not, I feel a little guilty about it, when I log on to emweb, and I really, really miss teaching. Working with students is the best thing I've ever done. Keeping in touch this way is high on my list of good things to do. Every retired person who seeks intellectual engagement should learn immediately about the Internet, and find a group like the emwebbers, and dig in. The Shattuck material, by the way I found on the Internet. I discovered a new search engine called Northern Light (www.nlsearch. com). They search the Web in the same fasion that other search devices do, but they apparently have exclusive access to a number of journals. I paid $1.00 (by credit card) to the Shattuck article. After reading it, if I didn't like it, I could get an automatic refund, no questions asked. I know about drowning. It comes at the beginning and end of semesters and everywhere in between. So, keep up with TIAA/CREF, hope Social Security and Medicare are around for a while, and hope the muscles and bones hang together. You'll be in hog heaven. Louis Forsdale
