Re-read Whicher's _This Was a Poet: A Critical Biography of Emily Dickinson_. The copy I have I first read in 1957, obviously not understanding it. This time around, I understand it, including things that Whicher didn't have at hand in 1938 when he wrote it. I wish others who have approached ED could write as beautiful as Whicher did. Struggling through Sewall's biography and taking breaks to read the NY Times and watch the Bulls do their Sunday afternoon work. Also, while avoiding Sewall's details, I've been sneaking peeks at Joanne Dobson's _Dickinson and The Strategies of Reticence_. Learning day by day that each of you has been very kind tolerating my little postings before I knew what was going on. In a while I'll be in the sophmore class. Now to hibernation, at least for the night. I hope only for the night. Glad many of you are minding your gardens, wondering about chickadees and other invaluable things. Hey there, y'all.
