was strongly in favor of early
hours and I remember we felt
a little like intruders if we staid?
many minutes past ten altho on
these occasions the famous gentle
scientist seemed to ignore his resign his
geology & hygiene ? long enough to forget
Geology.
greeting his neighbors
and friends with great sympathy & warmth of
recognition ignoring all his
theories
    among his guests
while
Mrs H moved about
with her pretty caps furnished in
pink ribbands out-mastered by
her own cheeks with all the
esprit and warmth of a sweet
brave[?] spirit undaunted by life
and its possibilities - Home before
eleven - except the truant pairs
who in sweet simplicity sauntered
home in pairs unattended by
carriages as chaperones - X
