letters from dickinson to bowles

Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 275

MANUSCRIPT: AC. Ink.

PUBLICATION: L (1894) 209-210; LL 236-237, in part; L (1931) 199.

The letter seems to be a greeting written to Bowles after his return from Europe on 17 November 1862. The quatrain at the end of the letter is the concluding stanza of the poem beginning "My first well Day - since many ill."
