Thomas Johnson's Note on Poem 44

MANUSCRIPTS: There are two, identical in text, written late in 1858. That reproduced above (Bingham 3d) is in packet 80. The cop to Bowles (Bingham) is signed "E." and endorsed Mr Bowles." In line 1 "she" is underlined, and line 7 is without punctuation.
