Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 743

MANUSCRIPT: Hart. Pencil. Unpublished.

The handwriting is about 1881. The circumstances may have been as follows: Sometime during the year ED received a box of candy for which she thanked Judge Lord, who replied that he was not the donor. If ED had received the annual Christmas box from Mrs. Holland before Christmas, she quite naturally would not have expected another package from her after Christmas.
