Though Johnson catalogues this set of correspondence under "Dr. and Mrs. Josiah Gilbert Holland," we are labelling it "Emily Dickinson/Elizabeth Holland Correspondence" since the bulk of these letters and poems were sent to Elizabeth Holland alone. A few (L 181, 544, 715; P 836, 990, 1084, 1390, 1406) were sent to her husband, Dr. Josiah Gilbert Holland, and a few (L 133, 149, 175, 195, 207, 269; P 5, 163, 716, 824) were sent to both.
