letters from dickinson to elizabeth holland

Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 901

MANUSCRIPT: HCL (H 87). Pencil.

PUBLICATION: LH 188-189.

Theodore Holland graduated from Columbia Law School in June 1884. The allusion is probably to an oral examination. Mrs. Holland had left New York for her summer home. Amherst weather records indicate that there were freezing temperatures on three successive nights, 29-31 May 1884.
