O God, our Father in Heaven--
High and mighty Ruler of the Universe,
In Whom we live and move
And have our being--
In Whose sight a thousand years and kingdoms
Are as a tale that is told,
And yet Who regardeth the sparrow in its fall!--
We thank Thee--We bless Thee--
For all Thy mercies
Unfathomable,
Or in the small familiar happenings
Of every day.
For our friends,
And for the evidences
Of Thy care for them
And for us, in our joys,
Or those tests of
Increasing power
To withstand
Or to prevail.
Make us worthy--
Of our memories,
And the example
Left by those
We have most dearly loved.
