LL 54, in part; FF 171, in part. "1882" on verso. Pinholes, paper clip and paste marks. Bianchi writes: "[word, initial illegible] began to write when I was 16 - " Johnson tentatively identifies a photograph of Martha Dickinson which is in the Houghton by Lovell, Amherst. It is inscribed on the back: "With dearest love of/Your Valentine/February the 14th 1884." Since this letter is to Susan, not to Martha, one imagines that Susan had loaned Dickinson the photograph.
