LL 49, in part, and changed, incorporating as a final sentence
one from a letter to Elizabeth Holland (L 318). Pencilled lines across
first paragraph and marginalia on first leaf. "Baltimore" pencilled in top margin by Sue, who has
also written "Her Day" across paragraph beginning "I rise, because the sun shines" (directly over
"I brush my hair, and dress me"). Johnson omits "long" from "I had many long talks with
Emmons." He supplies information regarding Sue's whereabouts: she has left New York to visit
her brothers for several months in Grand Haven, Michigan. Pat took care of the Dickinsons'
horse.
