letters from dickinson to bowles

Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 256

MANUSCRIPT: AC. Ink.

PUBLICATION: L (1894) 202-203, in part; LL 230-231; L (1931) 193-194, in part.

This letter, which apparently enclosed another letter for Bowles to forward to somebody, uses Austin's name throughout as a cover.

Bowles was planning to sail for Europe early in April. He evidently replied that he did not have a flask (see letter no. 259).
