letters from dickinson to elizabeth holland

Thomas Johnson's Note on Letter 667

MANUSCRIPT: HCL (H 53). Pencil.

PUBLICATION: LH 133.

This letter was written in response to one from Mrs. Holland which evidently invited ED to repeat the question now lost (see letter no. 650). It had also described her flowerbeds at Bonniecastle in the Thousand Islands after the first September frosts. The political campaigns of a presidential election year, ED's letter notes, are gathering momentum.
